Plumbing Permit

Steps to Obtaining a Plumbing Permit:

  1. First you must meet all requirements of Grimes County-if they require a permit, you must obtain it first.
  2. Once you have met all Grimes County requirements for a Plumbing Permit, the following city requirements must be met:
  3. A copy of your permit from Grimes County must be submitted to the city at the time of your application.

YOU MUST:

  • COMPLY WITH INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODES 2009 * Energy Code Compliance Required.
  • 1″ POLYETHYLENE PIPE IS REQUIRED FOR GAS LINES GROUND – WE INSPECT
  • INSIDE HOUSE PIPES MUST BE BLACK PIPE NOT GALVANIZED OR IRON.
  • Plumbing fixtures include: toilets, urinals, fountains, bathtubs, showers, sinks, lavatories, stop sinks, interceptors, washing machine and floor drains.

All applications for permits must be accompanied by plans of all work expected to be done, showing the course and grades of all drain pipes. The course and location of all soil, vent and water pipes, the arrangement of all connections of all fixtures, the position of traps and the manner of ventilating and such other details the City Engineer may require.

Once your plans have been approved and fees have been paid, a plumbing permit will be issued.

You must fill out all the information on the city application form and submit the permit fees.
